Education and skills are essential for young people starting out in their working lives if they are to make the most of the opportunities available to them. In this research area we will focus on education and skills training provision - academic, vocational, emotional, and social - especially for those furthest from the labor market.

In this policy area we will also consider vocational training, higher and continuing education, ensuring that lifelong learning prepares people for the jobs of today and tomorrow as the economy continues to develop in the years ahead.
